Halle Bailey Shares Process of Choosing Baby’s Name with Boyfriend DDG

Halle Bailey and DDG wanted their son’s name to be a real showstopper. The Little Mermaid actress, who’s only 23, let the world know in January that she and DDG had welcomed a baby boy.

Guess what? It was actually DDG who suggested the name Halo for their son. “He’s the one who came up with his name,” she spilled the beans to People in an interview.

They both loved the name. “We just agreed, and we loved it. I love the name Halo,” she said.

Halle even made a little joke that their baby has his own “theme song”. This was in response to a question about any possible link to her mentor Beyonce’s 2008 hit “Halo.”

But the music connection doesn’t stop there. Even though he’s just a few months old, little Halo has already made his music video debut. He appeared in DDG’s new track “Darryl Freestyle,” which includes a verse about Halle and their baby.

Before the birth announcement, Halle and DDG (whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) were pretty hush-hush about the pregnancy. In fact, they never confirmed they were expecting, despite months of rumors flying around.
