Lamar Odom, the retired basketball player, will always have a connection with the Kardashians. His bond with Rob Kardashian is particularly deep. This friendship was formed during Lamar’s marriage to Khloe Kardashian. Even after his divorce from Khloe, Lamar still views Rob as a brother.
In an exclusive interview with E! News’ Francesca Amiker, Lamar shared, “I don’t have any siblings.” He found it refreshing to have someone step into that role in his life. He said, “It was cool to me to have somebody come in my life and play that role. I learned from it.”
Interestingly, Lamar, who is a Los Angeles Lakers alum, recently sent some love to Rob. Rob has been mostly out of the public eye since becoming a father to Dream Kardashian, who is now 7. The occasion? Rob’s 37th birthday.
Lamar’s philosophy is “Once a family, always a family.” He attributes this to his grandmother, Mildred Mercer. She raised him with an “old school” mindset, where the past is left in the past.
It’s been years since Lamar last saw Rob. But he wishes him nothing but the best. As Lamar, now 44, put it, “We’re always going to be family.”
His good wishes also extend to Khloe and her children, True, 5, and Tatum, 20 months. Khloe shares these kids with her ex, Tristan Thompson. Lamar’s sentiment? We’re all family, no matter what.
