Sophia Bush, the star we all remember from One Tree Hill, has been doing some serious thinking. As the New Year rolled in, she took a moment to reflect on the rollercoaster that was 2023.
She learned a lot from the past year, and she’s not shy about sharing it. The struggles, the victories, all of it – she’s grateful.
In an Instagram post on January 2nd, the 41-year-old opened up. She said, “This past year humbled me, broke me, built me, betrayed me, freed me, and showed me what it means to really be alive.” That’s some heavy stuff, right?
But she didn’t stop there. She talked about not settling anymore. About asking for more. About coming back to herself. She said, “This year put me back in my body. I left it a long time ago, in such a way that I forgot what it felt like to inhabit my own skin.”
You might know her from Chicago PD. Or maybe you heard about her divorce from Grant Hughes after just over a year of marriage. Well, she’s got a new resolution for 2024. She’s going to live honestly, even if it means losing some fans.
She continued her heartfelt message, saying, “This year sent me inward.” She’s been doing some soul-searching, it seems. She’s been less present with her fans, but more present with herself.
And she’s okay with that. She hopes her fans are doing well, but she’s grateful for this quiet, personal journey she’s been on. She concluded, “More than I’ve ever been. It took me out of relationship with many of you but put me back into relationship with myself. I hope you are all doing well, but for this quiet and deeply personal experience I am supremely grateful.”
