They first stepped out as a couple at the 2006 Golden Globes. All glammed up and looking like Hollywood royalty. By October, they were engaged. A whirlwind romance, huh?
They tied the knot on Dec. 21, 2006. The venue? None other than the romantic south of France. Sounds like a fairy tale, doesn’t it?
But here’s the kicker. Their marital bliss was short-lived. Esposito filed for divorce on May 1, 2007. The reason? The classic “irreconcilable differences”.
Cooper’s rep called the split “mutual” at the time. They said the couple had been “separated for quite a while”. Kinda surprising, considering they were only married for four months. Their divorce was finalized in November 2007.
Cooper, who’s known for being a private guy, talked about his marriage on The Howard Stern Show in 2011. His words? “It was just something that happened”.
He added, “The good thing is, we both realized it…Sometimes you just realize it”. Stern, being Stern, wanted more details. But Cooper simply said, “It just wasn’t right. It’s interesting…things happen!”
