Chris was born in Ohio, United States on January 30, 1957. Before becoming NBC News’ Senior White House Correspondent in 2014, she hosted the MSNBC news program Jansing and Company; substitute- anchored both NBC Nightly News and The Today Show; and worked for many years as a reporter and anchor for Albany, New York’s WNYT station.
After graduating from Otterbein College with a degree in broadcast journalism, she accepted early-career positions at a Columbus, Ohio television station and a Ticonderoga, New York radio station.
Did you know: While working for WNYT, she became known for her New York Emmy-winning coverage of the 1997 Olympics bombing incident in Atlanta, Georgia.
