Paul was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA on December 31, 1959. Lead singer and guitarist for the seminal 1980’s indie rock band The Replacements. His band, known for classic albums like Let it Be and Pleased to Meet Me, is considered one of the most influential American indie rock bands of their time.

He worked as a janitor for U.S. Senator David Durenberger during the 70’s.
