Pierce was born in Denver, Colorado, USA on January 28, 1988. Novelist of the science fiction genre and screenwriter who authored the New York Times bestselling Red Rising trilogy which is comprised of the titles Red Rising, Golden Son and Morning Star.

He was a political science and economics major at Pepperdine University. He worked as a page in the NBC Page Program while living in his political science teacher’s garage when he sold Red Rising.
