Shonda was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA on January 13, 1970. Screenwriter, producer, and director who notably created the successful ABC TV shows Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal. She has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards and in 2007 she won a Golden Globe for her work on Grey’s Anatomy.
She studied at Dartmouth College prior to landing her first job in television.
Did you know: She received the Gary Rosenberg Writing Fellowship Award from USC’s Film School for being at the top of her class and she wrote the screenplay for the 2002 Brittany Spears film Crossroads.
