Professional Life: Hudgens, known for her role in all three High School Musical films, branched out into other roles. She starred in films like Bandslam, Beastly, Sucker Punch, and Spring Breakers. She also appeared in Machete Kills, Second Act, and Bad Boys for Life.
In an interview with The Guardian in August 2018, Hudgens reflected on her career. “High School Musical was a fantastic journey, but it took me off the path I had envisioned,” she said. Her original dream? “I always wanted to be the indie girl. I dreamed of playing roles like a drug addict, stripper, or prostitute. I’ve had this goal since I was about 11.”
Fast forward to 2015, Hudgens made her Broadway debut. She starred in a revival of the musical Gigi. The next year, she returned to her musical roots. She played the character Rizzo in Fox’s Grease Live!
In 2019, Hudgens took on another musical role. She joined Fox’s live staging of Rent. She also starred in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s movie adaptation of Rent creator Jonathan Larson’s autobiographical musical tick, tick…BOOM!.
Switching gears to her personal life. In 2011, a year after Hudgens and Zac Efron called it quits, she started dating actor Austin Butler. Their relationship ended in early 2020.
Fast forward to October 2023, Hudgens tied the knot with MLB star Cole Tucker. Among the guests were Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel.
